After years of international success and acclaim Camilo Pardo will exhibit for two of his most important art shows to date this summer. 323East, Detroit's
emerging international top-shop for new, high-energy pop and urban artwork, will host Fuel Injection. A solo exhibition showcasing Camilo's newest works, preceding his first showing in Hollywood that is receiving a tremendous buzz in LA.

The designer of Ford Motor Company's legendary Ford GT, has been celebrated in countless international magazines, including the New York Times and
Rolling Stone. He has received rave reviews for his fashion concepts at Miami Fashion Week and has showcased his advanced concept automotive designs,
furniture design, and paintings around the world. This summer's exhibition's will elevate Camilo to the next level of critical acclaim as an artist. Please join me

Detroit's hottest emerging design label, Femilia Couture, celebrates a whirlwind three years of contemporary couture design, runway shows, community service and media attention. With a burst of activity and a relentless drive Emily Thornhill and Fotoula Lambros have secured their place at the center of metro Detroit's fashion community.

Over the years the girls have worked their way up from write-ups in community blogs and localnewspapers to full-color fashion spreads in glossy, nationally recognized magazines. Their extensive media coverage has included a launch party spread in Ambassador Magazine w/ Detroit By Design, wardrobe styling for a Real Detroit Weekly cover shoot, a feature cover story in the Metro Times, a write upin 944 Magazine's inaugural Detroit edition, and a full color spread in Styleline Magazine.
Celebrities and Community:
Femilia's work with the community and charities has connected them with local celebrities and politicians including former Detroit Mayor Ken Cockrel, former tv personality and current city council president Charles Pugh, Americas Next Top Model winner Naimia Mora and Project Runway's Joe Farris.A constant supporter of the metro Detroit creative community, their causes have included the Detroit Public Library's H.Y.P.E. teen center and the annual Michigan Opera Theatre gala event BravoBravo!.

Runway Shows:
Femilia has produced their own highly successful runway shows at the Bankle Building and the Loving Touch in Ferndale. They have showcased at the Christian Dior and Saks Fifth Avenue sponsored Detroit Fashion Week media preview at The Townsend Hotel, The St. Regis Hotel and were also featured at the high-profile Fashion in Detroit event last fall alongside celebrity labels Betsey Johnson and Kid Rock's Made in Detroit.

Combining dark, sexy R&B with his signature lascivious sound, he has created a collection of razor sharp electro pop tunes made to grind to. This is one sweaty, sultry LP. (Written by Warp Records)

DR DISKO DUST:

The alter-ego of John Ryan who is most noted for his band Spacelings & Bassheads (I.T.) with their eclectic and rebellious live shows at mega-raves during the 1990's. Other projects include The Thresh (with Goudron) and Citizens of Shade (w. Hecate) on (Kool Pop). John also creates in the genre of "trash art" filmmaking and writing.

GUYS ON DRUGS:

Guys On Drugs are Vacuum & E.Spleece 2 Guys from detroit who started producing everything from techno, house, broken beat, hip-hop and disco edits back in the mid 90's. One night they decided to see what would happen when they synced their technology and melted their styles together. After a couple of hours of pushing buttons, tweaking knobs, jumping around and keeping the neighborhood awake, they stopped the music and Vacuum said "this sounds like a couple of guys on drugs". And thus G.O.D was born on 11.11.07 with releases coming out this summer on Blank Artists & Mineral Musica and just recently coming back from a tour of the Northwest and Bay Area's the future is looking bright for G.O.D.

IT label head BMG of Ectomorph performs live laptop DJ sets. Eclectic, exotic, and powerful, his DJ sets cover many styles (electro, techno, house, disco, italo, synth, acid, rock, etc), reinventing the old and remixing the new into a solid new sound with an energy unseen since the heyday of radio mix shows.

This function corresponding with the Richard Avedon exhibit is a feature for the DIA’s Friday Night Live progam with Detroit By Design providing production support. Souvenir will serve as our closing reception for the artwork of Bethany Shorb, Michael Daoyle and David Blunk II. Their artwork will be showcased as part of the artistic programming for this creative network social.

Alexis Benard (aka Seuil) is not your typical DJ. He grew up on Reunion Island. A small obscure French department located east of Madagascar off the coast of Southern Africa. He was taught classical piano at a young age and eventually moved on to incorporate percussion instruments, jazz and blues into his repertoire. When he turned 18 he moved to Paris and began to explore electronic music.

Perlon recordings helped spark his passion, with influences including Pantytec, Zip,Melchior, Cabanne, Ricardo Villalobos, Mathew Dear and Daze Maxim. His style has also been influenced by the Parisian and Argentinian artists with which he collaborates. He has remixes on Adjunct, Leftroom and Rygular, has contributed to compilations with Minibar and Lessizmore, and has releases coming out on Lomidhigh Organic, Moon Harbour and Freak’n Chic.

In 2007 Seuil founded the label Eklo releasing recordings by artists including Lauhaus, Jorge Savoretti, Heartthrob, Cabanne, Miss Fitz, Ryan Crosson and Lee Curtiss. In 2008 Eklo released recordings by Laps, dOP, Skat and Posh. New releases will be coming out this year including a couple projects with Seuil. He will be headlining Souvenir for S2dio Night this Friday performing a live set.

Mike Huckaby- Detroit

Renaissance man Mike Huckaby is one of the most respected DJ/Producers in Detroit. When he’s not globetrotting as a DJ (St. Petersburg, Moscow, Torino and Berlin next month), Huckaby can be found mentoring inner city kids at the Detroit non-profit Youthville, giving music software demos for German companies Ableton Live and Native instruments or recording in the studio for one of the dozen labels he works with across the globe.

Huckaby has an extensive discography with countless recording credits including releases, mixes, remixes and appearances on dozens of hometown and international labels including Harmonie Park, SYNTH, Ferox and Third Ear Recordings. Although he keeps an apartment in Berlin and works around the world, we are still fortunate to call Mike Huckaby a resident of the D.

Sassmouth- London, Chicago
HEJ, NBFC

Sassmouth (Sam) settled in Chicago from San Francisco via New York City in 2000 where she rapidly reoriented her life to the weekly rhythm of electronic dance music culture. Using her musical training and diverse experience performing live as both a member of string quartets and punk bands, developed her Techno skills during the first decade of the new millenium.

Sassmouth found a musical kinship with like-minded Chilean artists while living in Santiago. She continues to return to her past residence to perform at the techno centre, La Feria. Upon returning to Chicago, Samantha performed regularly throughout the U.S., promoted a variety of underground and club events in her home town, and built a friendly and supportive online home for the electronic dance music community with her website naughtybadfun.org.

Sam also continues her standard commute to beloved Detroit where she gained great inspiration and experience playing at club events and the Detroit Electronic Music Festival.

Currently residing in London, Sam contributes original tracks and remixes to projects for the Detroit-based label Hej Records while continuing to play dates in the Americas and Europe. -Bio excerpts from residentadvisor.net

Frederick comes from Sarreguemines, a small French town bordering Germany. From a very young age, Fred has been influenced by schranz and hardcore electronic music (Manu le Malin, dj Rush, Chris Liebing). After a few years going out to German clubs, he moved to Paris and started spinning records around 17.
His music morphed into techno and finally minimal house techno. He has had the opportunity to play in France and Germany before moving to Chicago two years ago. Currently in the Chi, he became affiliated to the NBFC crew where he found his US family thanks to Sassmouth and Hej records (Punisher, John Overfiend). He founded the Souvenir parties in 2009 with his wife Noemi. The events promote French DJs and art in Chicago.

John Overfiend- Detroit

John Overfiend grew up on the east coast before finding his way to the birthplace of techno. Now at home in the D he is an established fixture on the local electronic music scene. Picking up the pace this last year Overfiend played multiple events surrounding the Movement Festival and Winter Music Conference in 2009. Following these events he went on a global tour with stops in South America, Spain and the U.K. Recently he has returned home to work in the studio. Overfiend has released MP3s on Beatport along with two new vinyl recordings working with Punisher and labels including Maetrick and People Mover Productions. We look forward to his set this Friday.

Goudron: The musical persona of Detroit artsit Ron Zakrin. Goudron records on the Interdimensional Transmissions (IT) label with earlier work under Ersatz Audio. Goudron was dubbed the “king of the synth riffs” by CrossTalk-Chicago. Xlr8r magazine describes Goudron’s sound as infusing “electro with a threatening undercurrent that's equal parts Black Sabbath's soot-encrusted riffing and D.A.F.'s brawny death disco”. While touring throughout North America, Goudron's recordings are supported by enthusiastic fans on both sides of the pond.

Carlos Souffront: Carlos is known as a DJ's DJ. His extensive experience includes residencies with musicians such as Clark Warner and Stacy Pullen at venues like the Sardine Bar, Motor, The Labrynth and Zoots Coffee House. He has performed extensively in Detroit, Chicago, New York and overseas with DJs like Kevin Saunderson, Josh Wink and Matthew Dear.

Dethlab (Bethany Shorb, Michael Doyle and David Blunk II): These dark, underground electronic music darlings of Detroit have performed at museums like the MOCAD and The Guggenheim-NYC and along side high-profile musicians like Fixmer/McCarthy (Nitzer Ebb) and Prodigy for the Movement 2009 Pre Party at the Fillmore Theatre. The members are also internationally recognized visual artists who will be showcasing their creative work in the gallery for S2dio Night's Angel Fever event.

Dean Major: One of the leaders of this new scene, Major staked his claim with his crew Syst3m, which focused on throwing larger-scale parties, exposing more new talent to Detroit partygoers and doing it with more frequency than other crews. The attention to detail of his parties is still unmatched in Detroit — incorporating the best in design (always the best fliers by dig dug) and sound to make an experience worth remembering, bringing in acts like Green Velvet in a green wig; live, robot fliers; -paraphrased from Brendan Gillen (Metro Times)

A unique gala event for the Michigan AIDS Coalition held at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit. 100 artists & designers were given Carhart denim jackets to designfor charity auction. He's shooting a movie w/ Drew Barrymore and Juliette Lewis on the East Side called "Whip It" based on the acclaimed novel, "Derby Girl". Detroit's impressive creative industry infrastructure has made it an attractive place for the film industry to shoot. Clint Eastwood's also shooting in town... but lets face it. Joshua Band is an Ann Arbor-based photographer who creates highly stylized fashion photography. His extended studies in art, design, and filmmaking have influenced his ambitiously creative trademark style. Post production techniques are employed to create hissignature style. Clients include Spin Magazine/Spin.com, Real Detroit Weekly, Vivid Braille Clothing, Kate Bennett Fashions, Detroit Fashion Incubator, and Salon M. He is looking to form relationships with both corporate and agency clients. His photography has been showcased at the Scarab Club in Detroit, MI, in Big Idea Magazine, Real Detroit Weekly, and at Spin.com and PerfectWeddingGuide.com. Band is anaward winning photographer who has been featured as photographer of the day on OneModelPlace.com.

Imeer D. by Jill Robertson
Jill Robertson is an accomplished and experienced seamstress, designing dresses for private clients while selling her 2007 Fall Collectionin Royal Oak at Artisana Obscura. Her professional design work has been employed with theatre companies, wedding parties andindustrial automotive clients. Ms. Robertson is a cross-disciplined road scholar leaving her mark on the fashion design scene in Detroit. Her well executed and sophisticated Imeer D. fashion line is influences by fashion design studies in London, England, a textile and apparel undergraduate focus, as well as marketing and management skills picked up from Graduate studies. Her work has been shown on therunway at the Detroit Fashion Incubator, featured as a finalist at the 2007 ArtRageous Gala and the 2007 Detroit Fashion Week.

Detroit By Design on a professional social with George Petersmarck Photography and Michigan Dance Project, courtesy of Scion Street Marketing. The evening began with drinks at the Cass Cafe, followed by a tour of the Bankle Building.

The Slick Rick show at St. Andrews brought a mix of Detroit and Ann Arbor music industry staples out to enjoy a night of Old School rap. Notables included hip hop heavyweights Slum Village and DJ Dez. Dante Tucker, fresh off his Van's Warped Tour. Buzz Bar proprietor Adam Laurie, house dj legend Mike Clark, filmmaker Russel Ezekial and Motormouth/Real Detroit cover girl Inkie, who will be producing a fall fashion show at the Detroit By Design Gallery next month.
