Souvenir will serve as our closing reception for the artwork of Bethany Shorb, Michael Daoyle and David Blunk II. Their artwork will be showcased as part of the artistic programming for this creative network social.

Alexis Benard (aka Seuil) is not your typical DJ. He grew up on Reunion Island. A small obscure French department located east of Madagascar off the coast of Southern Africa. He was taught classical piano at a young age and eventually moved on to incorporate percussion instruments, jazz and blues into his repertoire. When he turned 18 he moved to Paris and began to explore electronic music.
Perlon recordings helped spark his passion, with influences including Pantytec, Zip,Melchior, Cabanne, Ricardo Villalobos, Mathew Dear and Daze Maxim. His style has also been influenced by the Parisian and Argentinian artists with which he collaborates. He has remixes on Adjunct, Leftroom and Rygular, has contributed to compilations with Minibar and Lessizmore, and has releases coming out on Lomidhigh Organic, Moon Harbour and Freak’n Chic.
In 2007 Seuil founded the label Eklo releasing recordings by artists including Lauhaus, Jorge Savoretti, Heartthrob, Cabanne, Miss Fitz, Ryan Crosson and Lee Curtiss. In 2008 Eklo released recordings by Laps, dOP, Skat and Posh. New releases will be coming out this year including a couple projects with Seuil. He will be headlining Souvenir for S2dio Night this Friday performing a live set.
Mike Huckaby- Detroit

Renaissance man Mike Huckaby is one of the most respected DJ/Producers in Detroit. When he’s not globetrotting as a DJ (St. Petersburg, Moscow, Torino and Berlin next month), Huckaby can be found mentoring inner city kids at the Detroit non-profit Youthville, giving music software demos for German companies Ableton Live and Native instruments or recording in the studio for one of the dozen labels he works with across the globe.
Huckaby has an extensive discography with countless recording credits including releases, mixes, remixes and appearances on dozens of hometown and international labels including Harmonie Park, SYNTH, Ferox and Third Ear Recordings. Although he keeps an apartment in Berlin and works around the world, we are still fortunate to call Mike Huckaby a resident of the D.
Sassmouth- London, Chicago

Sassmouth (Sam) settled in Chicago from San Francisco via New York City in 2000 where she rapidly reoriented her life to the weekly rhythm of electronic dance music culture. Using her musical training and diverse experience performing live as both a member of string quartets and punk bands, developed her Techno skills during the first decade of the new millenium.
Sassmouth found a musical kinship with like-minded Chilean artists while living in Santiago. She continues to return to her past residence to perform at the techno centre, La Feria. Upon returning to Chicago, Samantha performed regularly throughout the U.S., promoted a variety of underground and club events in her home town, and built a friendly and supportive online home for the electronic dance music community with her website naughtybadfun.org.
Sam also continues her standard commute to beloved Detroit where she gained great inspiration and experience playing at club events and the Detroit Electronic Music Festival.
Currently residing in London, Sam contributes original tracks and remixes to projects for the Detroit-based label Hej Records while continuing to play dates in the Americas and Europe. -Bio excerpts from residentadvisor.net

Frederick comes from Sarreguemines, a small French town bordering Germany. From a very young age, Fred has been influenced by schranz and hardcore electronic music (Manu le Malin, dj Rush, Chris Liebing). After a few years going out to German clubs, he moved to Paris and started spinning records around 17.
His music morphed into techno and finally minimal house techno. He has had the opportunity to play in France and Germany before moving to Chicago two years ago. Currently in the Chi, he became affiliated to the NBFC crew where he found his US family thanks to Sassmouth and Hej records (Punisher, John Overfiend). He founded the Souvenir parties in 2009 with his wife Noemi. The events promote French DJs and art in Chicago.
John Overfiend- Detroit

John Overfiend grew up on the east coast before finding his way to the birthplace of techno. Now at home in the D he is an established fixture on the local electronic music scene. Picking up the pace this last year Overfiend played multiple events surrounding the Movement Festival and Winter Music Conference in 2009. Following these events he went on a global tour with stops in South America, Spain and the U.K. Recently he has returned home to work in the studio. Overfiend has released MP3s on Beatport along with two new vinyl recordings working with Punisher and labels including Maetrick and People Mover Productions. We look forward to his set this Friday.
